Consumers Want Functional Gadgets

Almost all American homes now own at least one, usually more, tech gadgets, according to a new study released by Pew Internet. Many gadgets have become popular across generations, with a majority now owning cell phones, laptops and desktop computers. Consumers embrace innovation and are willing to pay extra for smarter gadgets that can automatically handle their daily needs.
More than half of American consumers said they would rather have an easy to use gadgets that work consistently, than "cool," but complicated gadgets. Overall, ages 18 to 34 were by far the biggest group to not just own tech gadgets but enjoy their full benefit. There was strong market appeal for saving time and money, as well as green solutions that will save energy and help the environment.
